THE LATIN AMERICAN FESTIVAL – BIRMINGHAM 2016

The City’s most popular annual event  is here once again for 2016!!!

The  Latin American Festival is celebrating its 21st anniversary and  will be held  on  Sunday 3rd July 2016 at the Arcadian Centre, Southside, Birmingham  from 11.00am till 7.00pm     The event is FREE to the public.

The Festival,  founded by Peruvian born   Annie Bazán-De-Fisher an international cultural Award winner,   has become a unique event in the City.  It is the most established   Latin Festival in the UK and is solely organised by ABS* Latin Promotions a voluntary and non-profit making cultural organisation
The Festival as  always  will introduce authentic Latin entertainment  bringing  a colourful and vibrant atmosphere to the city  of Birmingham.

Authentic Latin Bands and performers will entertain the crowds including,   “LATIN ENSEMBLE” Salsa Band featuring Borys Caicedo from Cali, Colombia and acclaimed singer Angelica Lopez.   Mexico will be represented by the famous “THE MEXICAN WAY MARIACHIS Band  (famous for the Dorito’s TV Advert) .  LOS MUSICOS, Latin Band will offer  the latest  latin hits. OYA Samba Batucada Band will delight us with their amazing rythms and energetic sounds that will make everyone want to join in the carnival!   Spectacular performance of EDWIN GUERRA Colombian Harpist/Guitarist and Singer who will offer us the best of his  repertoir  the magical sounds of jisHarp!! We also  welcome LOS EXTRANJEROS our own brumi Latin Band to join us in the celebration.

Salsa workshops by Robert Sherwood and Colombian ANUAR CANAS will  make the public feel hot, hot, hot! .   Salsa and Limbo dance competitions will be fun and enjoyable.

Founder and Organiser of the festival, Annie says:  “Everyone is most welcome to join in the festival, which promises to be an unforgettable event, with lovely music for the public to dance to and is a wonderful event for all the family.”

Stalls of handicrafts, food, drinks  will also be available on the day.

The Latin American Festival embraces all cultures of the world and is a  unique opportunity not only to learn about the Latin American culture but also to share a great day in  a friendly and happy  atmosphere.

After the Festival, the traditional   LATIN FESTIVAL CELEBRATION PARTY  will take place from 7.00 till late at the GREEN ROOM Bar and Club in Hurst St. Birmingham, where  Salsa Classes will take place at 7.45pm.  Free Salsa CD.s will be given away throughout the night.  Admission price for the party is £5.00 and tickets can be obtained during the day  at the Festival or on the door.

All profits of the Celebration Party will go towards the Latin Festival fund.
